Radiometer Physics GmbH (RPG) — has become one of the leading suppliers for mm- and submm- microwave components and systems throughout the last decade. RPG’s worldwide activities are ranging from space projects like AMAS, EOS, MLS, ODIN, HERSCHEL / FIRST, SMILES, MASTER etc. to systems for ground based applications as radio astronomy, plasma physics, environmental research (remote sensing), ESR and molecular spectroscopy.

The wide product spectrum includes complete turn-key radiometers, acousto-optical spectrometers (AOS) and almost all components needed for radiometer designs like optics (mirrors, grids, lenses, interferometers etc.), RF-sources from 5 to 1500 GHz, mixers (fundamental, subharmonic), IF amplifiers, filters, detectors, electronics and instrument software development. In addition RPG has an expertise in the design of complex quasioptical systems and offers consultant services in this field.

Since most of the hardware is produced in house, RPG has set up high standard facilities for space product fabrication (clean room, class 1000), environmental testing (test chamber for radiometer product assurance, -30 °C to +50 °C), electro-forming and plating, photo lithography, RF-labs and precision micro-machining (machine shop with numerically controlled milling machines and lathes).

All RF components are designed with CAD systems like 3D structural simulator HFSS (Ansoft), CST Microwave Studio and CST Design Studio, nonlinear analyzers like Microwave Office and an optical software package developed in house. One of RPG’s strengths is its flexibility to respond to specific customer needs and requirements. Many systems that have been delivered worldwide are completely customized. Keeping this in mind almost, all products on this site can be considered as examples.
